Noticing that the air is getting polluted by each day more in the whole region, and at the same time among the people it is being normalized the categorization of the Balkan places as the most polluted places in the world, we thought it is reasonable to try to intervene more in this field and to become part of the campaign ” Balkans United for Clean Air”.

The mission of Sbunker is strengthening and promotion of democratic and liberal values in Kosovo, through influencing the public sphere through new media content and youth critical thinking programs.

Sbunker was founded as a non-governmental organization in January 2016, and its main product is the online blog www.sbunker.net. As a pioneer of media in Kosovo, we have provided more than 600 local and international authors in different contents and categories, from short comments to longer essays, with more than 3500 published articles.

Since 2016, Sbunker also works at grassroots level with Kosovar youth through the program for critical thinking and civil activism truAktiv, and it has worked with more than 3000 young people from all around Kosovo.

Sbunker from its own beginning has treated the issue of air quality as a fundamental human right. We have done this in Kosovo through various articles and publications of policy briefs within the blog, while through discussions and actions within truAktiv program.

Noticing that the air is getting polluted by each day more in the whole region, and at the same time among the people it is being normalized the categorization of the Balkan places as the most polluted places in the world, we thought it is reasonable to try to intervene more in this field and to become part of the campaign “Balkans United for Clean Air”.

Sbunker sees this campaign as a good opportunity to bring the issue of air pollution at a regional level because the air does not recognize borders or nations, and at the same time through this campaign to contribute in building solidarity among the civil societies of the Western Balkan when it comes to air and common issues that preclude the normal lives of the whole region, issues that unfortunately are too many.
